Aquarius Season
Aquarius Season 2024 begins with the Sun’s ingress into this fixed air sign on January 20, 2024 at 9:07 am EST (adjust for your time zone).
This will be no ordinary Aquarius Season, as the Sun will be conjoined with Pluto a few hours later when this planet of power and transformation re-enters Aquarius at 7:50 pm EST. It had a brief stay here in 2023, March 23 to June 11, at which time it slid back to the late degrees of Capricorn.
Pluto’s re-entry into Aquarius will have a profound and long-lasting impact on us, both personally and globally. It is the smallest and most distant planetary body, yet discovered in our Solar System, and has an elliptical orbit of 248 years.
Leaving Capricorn, where it has been transiting since 2008 and entering Aquarius, a completely different energy will be at play. We will be moving from earth to air energy, bringing freedom from worn out belief patterns and systems (top down authority, a few controlling the many, big business, corporate control, banks, etc.) and a shift towards more “people speak” with new rules, new voices and new opportunities. Cooperation, coordination and community will replace competition. Of course, this won’t happen overnight and without growing pains; however, following another brief retrograde back into Capricorn September 2 to November 19, Pluto will occupy the sign of Aquarius for 20 years, beginning November thereafter until 2044.
Down through the ages, Pluto in Aquarius has been aligned with many deep and lasting social and political changes. In its previous transit through this sign of radical change, 1778-1798, the world saw both the French Revolution, where the populous rose up against the monarchy and the French Republic was established, and the American Revolution, when the U.S. gained its independence from British domination during.
Pluto in Aquarius energy is revolutionary energy where people speak up for what they feel deeply, in service of human rights, often inciting revolts for change. As consciousness evolves on our planet, people are awakening to new ways of thinking and behaving.
Any disruptive energy felt is shifting us to this new energy and challenging us in the 3-D world of physical/material space. Many people will find it challenging to let go the world of polarity and linear time, while others will begin to understand the power of co-creation and living in the present. Pluto in Aquarius will have a profound and significant impact on technology, space exploration, science, medicine and Astrology. Humanitarian pursuits will advance as Aquarius is the sign of the collective and humanitarianism. It provides the energy of unity and cooperation, creating a world of: “All for one and One for all.” This, of course, is the ideal and the energy that precedes this may be one of uprising and revolt. Often the storm precedes the calm.
It’s lovely to think of such a possibility and all of the Air energy entering our planet in 2024 supports this. We are, truly, at a turning point in humanity. It’s time to recalibrate and release all the heaviness of Pluto’s transit through Capricorn and envision a brighter and more elevated energy with its transit through Aquarius.
