Capricorn Full Moon #2

Power * Purpose * Potential

On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 6:17 am EDT ( adjust for your Time Zone), the Full Moon will glow, for the second consecutive month, in the practical and earthy sign of Capricorn . . . A rare and potent cosmic event, as it will, also, occur at the “anaretic” 29th degree . . . the final degree of any sign and considered a critical degree (the “degree of fate”). Its energy is akin to running the last mile in a marathon.

The first Capricorn Full Moon, this year, occurring on June 21st, at 1* Capricorn, (see report, here, on substack) was a softer, emerging energy, while this Capricorn Lunation brings a potency and urgency for completion. It brings a powerful energy for change!

“ What is outdated must be upgraded!”

Full Moons ALWAYS occur when the Sun Opposes the Moon, illuminating it at its peak phase and bringing to light (consciousness) those areas beneath the surface (subconscious) that have been buried, avoided or ignored, allowing for their release. It’s a time of Culmination * Completion * Closure in the sign in which it occurs.

Once again, what is being highlighted during this Lunation, is the Cancer - Capricorn axis of: Personal vs Public Image; Internal vs External living; Emotional vs Material worlds; Family vs Career etc. We are being urged to balance our responsibility to self with responsibility to others.

Traditionally, Capricorn was associated with work, duty, career, public image, reputation and status quo. Today, in Modern Astrology, Capricorn’s meaning is extended further, to include your life’s work, as in your soul’s purpose: Who am I and Why am I here?

With Pluto, the planet associated with the depth of one’s soul, aligned with this Lunation, at 0* Aquarius, this purpose is accentuated & exemplified. It increases empathy and depth in the heart.

We are being urged to “show up” in the world, standing firmly, in our own truth! We are being challenged to be authentic in: thought * word and deed, now, more than ever before, in every relationship, situation, and circumstance.

Suggestion for Reflection:

Avoid being influenced by external forces and collective beliefs, by going within and listening to the powerful voice, (within each of us): “Intuition” Stand true to your inner beliefs and stay centered in your heart. It never lies!

The shadow side of Capricorn views success from the outside-in rather than the inside-out, making material success: money * power * control * authority * public image etc.the goals in life! Adopting this persona can often be the source of one’s unrest and undoing in life.

Building a strong “inner” foundation based on one’s core values is what leads to authentic success.

With Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto, Retrograde and Uranus joining them on July 26th, this is a time of deep reflection re: Transformation.

Saturn, the planet of timing, in the material world, known as the “Cosmic Clock,” rules Capricorn. It was regarded, mythologically, as the Lord of Karma:

“What you sow; so shall you reap,”

We are going through a profound period of Transformation; so remaining steadfast in your beliefs and staying true to yourself are key, now!

A transformative vibe is available, with Mars (action) & Uranus (innovation) in Taurus, trine (120 aspect) this 2nd Full Moon in Capricorn. A harmonious energy of blending emotions with taking action on what your intuition says is highlighted, now. Rely on your feelings as they may occur suddenly and “out of the blue!”

Also, Neptune, the planet ruling dreams, inspiration & imagination is in positive aspect to this Lunation . . . One of Opportunity! Take advantage of any inspiration you might have during this time. The energy is positive for manifesting your dream(s). Affirm them by writing them down!

BUCK MOON

July’s Full Moon is, also, known at the “Buck” Moon. According to tradition and the Farmer’s Almanac, every Full Moon was given a name by the Native North American peoples and the early colonial Americans, that was associated with a seasonal marker, July was the month when they witnessed the fully-grown antlers of the male (Buck) deer; thus, the BUCK MOON.

This is the Full Moon to be kind to yourself and embrace your authenticity!
